GETTING AROUND VENICE

Venice is the most wonderful place to explore, but as there are no roads, waterways and bridges are a MUST to understand!

There are four major bridges in Venice, although there are over 400 bridges in total! So when you are wanting to explore Venice, it helps to know how things work.

The four main bridges are Ponte della Costituzione, Ponte dell’Accademia, Ponte degli Scalzi and the Ponte di Rialto.

There are directional signs to get you to the bridges and they can easily be found (yellow or white) if you look up at buildings as you walk down streets or wander around campi (squares). The signs are actually on the walls of the buildings.
These will guide you to the main bridges you desire, helping you arrive where you want and saving you time, if you are on a tight schedule.
