Rovaniemi

When travelling through Finland in the thick of winter there are so many incredible things to see and do and many travel tips to consider.
Firstly dress in layers and I mean layers. Start with breathable thermals and go from there usually at least 3 more layers especially for small children.
Invest in great snow boots that are comfy and room enough for 2 pairs of socks.
Searching for the northern lights takes time and a lot of luck so if time is tight, definitely jump onto a tour group as they take you deep into forests and away from city lights.
If your on a tour definitely try the hot juice, it’s delicious.
Download the northern lights app as it sends you alerts as to when the conditions are good in your area.
The Arctic circle or Santa’s village is a winter wonderland, lots of fun things for the family to do and always lots of snow to play in. Make sure to take the time to get a photo with Santa, he’s the real deal and can speak most languages.
Kiitos (thank you)
